ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

Attorney Annette Hines believes in a community based approach to solve the legal needs of disabled and elderly residents. She works with families mediating, negotiating and coordinating their benefits; the result is often a better level of care for those who need it most but can afford it least.

Annette Hines started as an advocate for the needs of her child and has expanded her work to benefit the tens of thousands of people with disabilities in the MetroWest region.  She is a resource for families who need help navigating the system and uses her knowledge of the law and her connections on Beacon Hill to bring greater access to individuals and families who often fall through the cracks.

Her work on behalf of the elderly and disabled began when she recognized the need for improved healthcare for her disabled daughter. Frustrated with the level of care her daughter was receiving, she founded and directed a non-profit home care company called Special Families-Special Care, Inc. In one year she was able to create a new standard for care giving and a greater pay scale for care givers. The company recognized $1.5 million in revenue and her 50 employees realized a better work environment.

Attorney Annette Hines has been recognized for her efforts to improve the level of healthcare for elderly and disabled citizens. The Massachusetts Senate and House of Representatives have awarded her citations for her public service. ARC Massachusetts has named her a Distinguished Citizen.
